Job summary

Amazon Security IAM team seeks a Security Support Engineer to resolve complex access management issues, drive automation, and mentor engineers across the org. You will work with business owners to advance security initiatives from problem to resolution and help customers adopt security products while aligning configurations with standards.

The role includes on-call responsibilities and opportunities to influence security posture at scale across internal and external identities.

Qualifications

Experience in software development, or experience in technical support.
Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
Experience with Linux.
Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language (Python, Java, Scala, NodeJS).
Experience in security domains (application security, incident response, cloud security, IAM).
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field.

Responsibilities

Drive security-related operational initiatives in a security-first, enterprise-scaled environment.
Assist customers with remediation steps, identify blockers, and recognize patterns.
Work directly with customers to adopt new security products or adjust configurations to meet standards.
Contribute to scripting and security tool development efforts.
Own security metrics delivery and improvements.
Directly support Security Engineers by researching IAM security reviews and initiatives.
Mentor other engineers and handle escalations.
