Job summary

Amazon AWS Security Incident Response team is seeking security engineers who are passionate about learning and can work well in a team to keep customers secure. You will monitor, triage, and respond to security threats using AWS services, and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

The role involves on-call rotations and requires the ability to work across security domains, with opportunities for growth through mentorship and exposure to cutting-edge cloud security practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with web protocols, common security attacks, and remediation (non-internship).
• Experience solving basic problems by writing code or scripts with some assistance.
• Knowledge of system, network and OS.

Responsibilities

• Respond to threat findings indicating unauthorized activity.
• Identify, evaluate and communicate threats, risks and vulnerabilities, and propose remediation for security issues.
• Contribute to the development of security automation and security posture improvements.
• Track and report on the effectiveness of AWS detective controls such as Amazon GuardDuty and partner products such as CrowdStrike Falcon or Wiz Defend
• Develop processes and policies to increase security response effectiveness.
• On-call support: This role requires periodic on-call responsibilities including weekends.
• Hold or be able to obtain and maintain a UK Government Security Clearance.
