Job summary

Taiko in Aberdeen is seeking a Hygiene Shift Manager to lead our hygiene operations and uphold the highest food safety standards across the facility.

You will drive continuous improvement, develop the hygiene team, and work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality to ensure smooth line starts after deep cleans. Must be able to work 4 on, 4 off days and nights.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading hygiene teams in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of hygiene standards and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to train and develop staff for high performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the shift hygiene team and ensure cleaning schedules are completed.
  • Drive continuous improvement of hygiene standards in line with legislation and customer needs.
  • Support engineering during planned maintenance and line start-ups after deep cleans.
  • Deliver training and develop team capability to maximise flexibility and performance.
  • Prepare hygiene documentation and data sheets for audits and visits.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems and Health & Safety procedures.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a passionate and experienced Hygiene Shift Manager to lead our hygiene operations and help maintain the highest standards across our manufacturing facility.

You'll be a proactive leader with a passion for food safety, hygiene excellence and developing people. You thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and understand the importance of maintaining exceptional standards while building strong relationships across teams.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading and developing the shift hygiene team to ensure all cleaning schedules are completed effectively.
  • Driving continuous improvement of hygiene standards, procedures and practices in line with legislation, customer requirements and industry best practice.
  • Supporting engineering teams during planned preventative maintenance and assisting production teams with line start-up following deep cleans.
  • Delivering training and developing team capability to maximise flexibility and performance.
  • Working closely with chemical and equipment suppliers to optimise cleaning processes and drive innovation.
  • Building strong relationships with Production, Engineering, Quality and NPD teams to ensure effective communication and operational excellence.
  • Responding to audit findings and ensuring corrective actions are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Preparing and presenting hygiene documentation, including training records and chemical data sheets, during customer audits and visits.
  • Supporting announced and unannounced customer audits and ensuring the team is fully prepared.
  • Ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Creating a positive, engaging and high-performing team culture
