Job summary

Taiko Acton is seeking a passionate Hygiene Shift Manager to lead the hygiene operations in its Acton manufacturing facility. You will drive high standards of cleaning, food safety, and compliance, and partner with Production, Engineering and QA to ensure operational excellence.

You will manage a shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off, including days and nights, and play a key role in developing the hygiene team and delivering training, with a focus on continuous improvement and customer audits.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in shift hygiene teams.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene compliance.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement in hygiene standards.
• Excellent collaboration with production, engineering and QA teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the shift hygiene team to complete cleaning schedules.
• Drive hygiene standards in line with legislation and customer requirements.
• Support maintenance and production line-start after deep cleans.
• Deliver training to maximise team capability and flexibility.
• Collaborate with suppliers to optimise cleaning processes.
• Communicate with Production/Engineering/QA/NPD for operational excellence.
• Respond to audit findings and close corrective actions on time.
• Prepare hygiene documentation for customer audits and visits.
• Support announced and unannounced customer audits.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems and Health & Safety.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a passionate and experienced Hygiene Shift Manager to lead our hygiene operations and help maintain the highest standards across our manufacturing facility.

You’ll be a proactive leader with a passion for food safety, hygiene excellence and developing people. You thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and understand the importance of maintaining exceptional standards while building strong relationships across teams.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and developing the shift hygiene team to ensure all cleaning schedules are completed effectively.


• Driving continuous improvement of hygiene standards, procedures and practices in line with legislation, customer requirements and industry best practice.


• Supporting engineering teams during planned preventative maintenance and assisting production teams with line start-up following deep cleans.


• Delivering training and developing team capability to maximise flexibility and performance.


• Working closely with chemical and equipment suppliers to optimise cleaning processes and drive innovation.


• Building strong relationships with Production, Engineering, Quality and NPD teams to ensure effective communication and operational excellence.


• Responding to audit findings and ensuring corrective actions are completed within agreed timescales.


• Preparing and presenting hygiene documentation, including training records and chemical data sheets, during customer audits and visits.


• Supporting announced and unannounced customer audits and ensuring the team is fully prepared.


• Ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems and Health & Safety procedures.
