Job summary

Taiko, a leading UK food manufacturer, is seeking a Machine Minder to keep our chilled production lines running safely and efficiently. You’ll work with production operatives, engineers, and the quality team to ensure machines are set up and operated to the highest standards.

The role requires a mechanical engineering qualification, experience with factory machinery, and the ability to work 4 on 4 off night shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have a mechanical engineering qualification.
• Experience operating machinery in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment preferred.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, chilled environment.
• Strong awareness of food hygiene and health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain food production machinery during your shift.
• Carry out basic machine setups, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
• Complete pre-start checks and routine line changeovers.
• Report any mechanical faults to the engineering team.
• Ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently met.
• Keep accurate production and machine downtime records.
• Adhere to food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Support a clean-as-you-go culture and work collaboratively with other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Machine Minder, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient running of food manufacturing machinery. You’ll work closely with production operatives, engineers, and the quality team to ensure that all machinery is set up and operated to the highest standards to support consistent product quality and output.
