Job Purpose

To maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, food safety, and operational sanitation within the seafood processing facility during overnight hours. Key Responsibilities

  • Debris Removal: Remove organic fish waste, including fish bits, skin, scales, and oils, utilising specific cold-water rinses to prevent protein-based soils from solidifying.

  • Pre-Operational Verification: Conduct post-cleaning visual inspections and complete required chemical/hygiene logs accurately to hand over a clean plant to Quality Assurance (QA).
  • Health & Safety: Correctly utilise specialised Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suitable for wet, cold, and chemical-heavy environments. Report any machinery faults or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Candidate Requirements
Skills & Experience

  • Chemical Safety Knowledge: Basic understanding of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) or local chemical handling standards.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot hard-to-clean biological hazards, as food poisoning bacteria cannot be detected by smell or sight alone.
  • Communication: Good literacy and communication skills to interpret chemical labels, follow cleaning schedules.
