Job summary

The Butchers Recruiter is seeking a Hygiene Operative for night shifts in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment in Bilston. You will clean, strip down, and reassemble production machinery to meet exact hygiene standards so the next shift can start safely and compliantly.

Responsibilities include deep cleans, handling cleaning chemicals safely, following CICs and SOPs, and reporting hazards promptly. Available across 4 on/4 off, with clear progression through Levels 1-3.

Qualifications

• Previous hygiene or industrial cleaning experience within a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene compliance standards.
• Experience handling cleaning chemicals safely within controlled processes.
• Ability to follow detailed cleaning instructions and technical procedures accurately.

Responsibilities

• Carry out full strip-downs, deep cleans, and reassembly of production machinery.
• Clean conveyors, mincers, skinning machines, and other factory equipment.
• Follow Cleaning Instruction Cards (CICs) and hygiene SOPs precisely.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely in line with COSHH requirements.
• Complete hygiene tasks across production areas, including elevated work zones.
• Report equipment damage, hazards, or safety issues immediately.

Night hygiene is where food safety is won or lost. When production stops, the real protection of product quality begins - and that's where you will play a critical role as Hygiene Operative.

Working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, this position ensures machinery, production lines, and factory areas are cleaned, stripped down, and reassembled to exact hygiene standards so the next shift can start safely and compliantly.
