Job summary

Airbus Operations Limited in Filton is offering a 12.5‑month placement for undergraduates to join the Laboratory Test Means development team. You will help develop hydrogen-focused test rigs for Fuel and Landing Gear systems, working in prototyping areas and across non-office environments, with a focus on safety and hands-on testing.

Qualifications

  • Must be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.
  • CV and Cover Letter outlining motivation and suitability for the role.
  • Undergrad studying toward a degree in fluid mechanics/mechanical/chemical engineering.
  • Respect for Health & Safety rules in hazardous environments.
  • Alignment with KTOPS values (Kindness, Trust, Openness, Positivity, Solidarity).
  • Knowledge in 3D drawings tools, mathematics and physics modules.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • End to end development of hydrogen-focused test rigs from requirements to design, manufacturing and commissioning.
  • Modify existing hydrogen-focused test rigs to support new tests.
  • Troubleshoot test rig issues.
  • Use CATIA and other tooling to produce 3D digital mock-ups, BOMs and build procedures.
  • Work in a non-office environment with prototyping areas and test rigs.
