Job summary

You will join Airbus Operations Limited in Filton, Bristol, for a 12.5 month internship starting 16 August 2027. The role focuses on developing test rigs for Fuel and Landing Gear systems, with exposure to electrical, fluid and mechanical design in a hands-on environment.

Open to undergraduates throughout the duration of the placement, with emphasis on teamwork, safety, and problem-solving in non-office settings. Hybrid working and a competitive salary apply, depending on the role.

Qualifications

• Undergrad studying towards a degree in fluid mechanics/mechanical engineering.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Adaptability in a dynamic environment.
• Committed to safety protocols and hands-on engineering.
• Experience in 3D drawing tools desirable.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end development of new test rigs.
• From requirements capture to design, manufacture, integration and commissioning of the test rig.
• Modifying existing test rigs to support new tests.
• Troubleshooting test rig issues.
• Using CATIA and other tools to produce 3D mock-ups, BOMs and build procedures.
• Working in a non-office environment with prototyping areas and test rigs.
