Job summary

United Utilities is offering an internship in our Network Modelling Team at Lingley Mere, Warrington. You will learn to analyse network performance using industry tools and contribute to projects supporting operational teams.

As an intern you’ll receive mentorship, develop hydraulic modelling and data analytics skills, and prepare for a future career in this field within the water sector. This is a fixed-term contract over three months with pro rata hours.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline, such as Geography or Environmental Science.
• Ability to interpret data and support evidence-based decision-making.
• Strong communication and collaborative mindset.
• Desire to learn and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Use industry standard software to analyse network performance and solve operational challenges.
• Collaborate with operational teams to investigate network issues and root causes.
• Apply engineering and analytical skills to optimise network performance and water services.
• Analyse data to identify trends, anomalies and provide evidence-based recommendations.
• Produce technical reports presenting modelling results to stakeholders.
• Develop and run hydraulic network models to assess operating scenarios.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to address complex network challenges.
• Contribute to innovative projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
