Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Hydraulic Modeller to join a Manchester-based flood risk and water team. The role covers 1D/2D hydraulic modelling, flood risk assessments, and drainage projects across the UK.

You will work with Flood Modeller/TUFLOW, GIS, and report writing to deliver technical outputs and support client engagement. A degree in a relevant field and a full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in hydraulic modelling or flood risk consultancy.
• Experience using Flood Modeller and/or TUFLOW.
• Good understanding of UK flood risk and drainage principles.
• Experience with GIS, particularly ArcGIS or QGIS, would be beneficial.
• Strong technical report writing skills.
• Good communication and project management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to recruit a Hydraulic Modeller to join their established flood risk and water team in Manchester.

The role will involve working on a range of flood risk, drainage and water environment projects across the UK, with the opportunity to develop technically within a growing team.

The Role

• Developing and running 1D and 2D hydraulic models
• Flood risk assessments and flood mapping
