Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Hydraulic Modeller in London to join a growing consultancy. You will develop and run 1D/2D hydraulic models and undertake flood risk assessments across UK projects.

The role involves producing technical reports, drawings and flood mapping, supporting scheme development and working with engineers, planners and clients. Hybrid working with a London-based team is offered, with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in hydraulic modelling and flood risk assessment.
• Proficiency with TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, InfoWorks ICM or similar.
• Strong GIS and data analysis skills.
• Good technical report writing and communication skills.
• Consultancy experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity for a Hydraulic Modeller to join a growing consultancy in London, working on a range of flood risk, drainage and water management projects across the UK.

The Role:

• Develop and run 1D/2D hydraulic models using software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW and/or InfoWorks ICM.
• Undertake flood risk assessments, hydraulic assessments and drainage studies.
• Analyse model outputs and produce technical reports, drawings and flood mapping.
• Support scheme development, including flood mitigation and drainage design.
• Work closely with engineers, planners, environmental consultants and clients.
• Contribute to projects from initial assessment through to detailed design and delivery.

The Candidate:

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Water Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in hydraulic modelling and flood risk assessment.
• Proficiency with TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, InfoWorks ICM or similar.
• Strong GIS and data analysis skills.
• Good technical report writing and communication skills.
• Consultancy experience would be advantageous.
