Job summary

Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) invites applications for a part-time Training Support Officer, with home-based or Northern Area Office work options. The role supports district training delivery, including Royal Marine Cadet activity, and requires regular evening/weekend commitments to assist volunteers with online training.

The post focuses on enabling volunteers and cadets to access Sea Cadet Learning resources, with a view to strengthening instructor capability and programme delivery across

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth groups and awareness of challenges facing young people.
• Experience coordinating and supporting a programme of training activity.
• Experience coaching and mentoring volunteers.
• Experience drawing data to create support plans for delivery of activity.
• Experienced trainer able to deliver engaging and impactful training.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional support to area Training Managers and District and RMC Troop Teams to deliver the training plan.
• Support District Teams including DTO, DRO/DDO, DSO, and Trp Cdr as required.
• Work with District Officers to increase certificated, current instructors and grow capacity.
• Support ATOs/DTOs/RMC Troops on training matters with focus on districts needing support.
• Co-ordinate MSSC and other training packages (BTEC, Duke of Edinburgh's Award, CyberFirst) for cadets.
• Monitor performance against targets set by the National Support Centre to ensure equitable access.
