Job summary

RailwayPeople seeks a Street Lighting Engineer to join our highways and infrastructure team, delivering street lighting and electrical design across public sector schemes. Hybrid UK role with office and site work and some travel, supporting technical design from concept to completion.

The role focuses on design, calculations, reports and coordination with clients and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong technical lighting design capability and software familiarity.
• Experience with lighting calculations and modelling.
• Knowledge of highways lighting standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Produce street lighting designs per industry standards and client requirements.
• Carry out lighting calculations and modelling using Lighting Reality.
• Prepare technical reports, specs, drawings and design documents.
• Support electrical design delivery for lighting and infrastructure.
• Carry out site surveys, inspections and condition assessments.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, utilities and design teams.
• Assist with feasibility studies, project estimates and scheme development.
• Support environmental lighting impact assessments and related reports.
• Attend client meetings and provide technical input throughout project delivery.
