Job summary

Cigna Healthcare, based in Glasgow, is seeking a Risk and Underwriting Associate Analyst to join the SME Underwriting team. You will assess financial risk, support new business quotes and renewals, and collaborate with Sales, Client Management and Finance to negotiate terms.

You will develop cross‑functional knowledge across departments and report to the Underwriting Senior Supervisor, contributing to efficient portfolio management and growth.

Qualifications

• Strong numeracy and the ability to identify and analyse existing or potential problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review case‑specific risk assessments within GEH, identifying financial risks to support underwriting decisions.
• Negotiate terms with Sales and Client Management to support new business and renewal activity.
• Monitor account earnings plans to support growth and profitability.
• Analyse portfolio performance and provide detailed feedback to support effective portfolio management.
• Support Experience Underwriters with large group cases and manage complex schemes, including partnerships, top‑ups and combined propositions.
• Mentor junior team members and support their development.
• Provide monthly reports to key stakeholders and work across relevant departments to support effective delivery.
