Job summary

Capital One UK is seeking a Service Transition Consultant based in our Nottingham office. You’ll partner with project and engineering teams to ensure new and changed services land in production reliably, with governance and observability built in from design.

You will work both independently and with teams to drive continual improvements, shape the Service Transition function, and promote hands‑on tooling adoption within a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Experience in live IT infrastructure environments.
• Strong influencing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Agile Project Management methodologies.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Understanding of service readiness and production environments.
• Familiarity with observability and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

• Manage, track and prioritise service requirements for new/changed services through to completion.
• Consult during design phase on supportability, reliability and operational readiness.
• Define Service Level Objectives and governance while remaining hands-on with tooling.
• Map dependencies and operational impact of new/changed services.
• Champion observability and documentation standards with engineering teams.
• Drive continual improvement of Service Transition processes and procedures.
