Job summary

Adlib Recruitment is seeking a midweight Service Designer to join a collaborative, user-centred design team. You’ll shape early-stage programmes, define problems, and map services across infrastructure, digital ecosystems and emerging tech.

Qualifications

• Experience within Service Design, UX Design, Product Design, Design Research, Design Strategy or a similar field.
• Experience conducting user research and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Strong problem-solving and sense-making skills, with the ability to structure complex information.
• Experience facilitating workshops and collaborative working sessions.
• Confidence creating artefacts such as service blueprints, journeys, prototypes, flows or wireframes.
• Ability to work effectively with stakeholders from different disciplines and backgrounds.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships internally and externally.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of how organisations make decisions.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end design of programmes focused on creating positive impact across the UK’s infrastructure and technology landscape.
• Conduct research, engage stakeholders, map services and systems, and help teams make sense of complex challenges.
• Plan and conduct interviews, synthesising findings, and identifying opportunities that can inform future decision-making.
• Produce artefacts such as service blueprints, customer journeys, system maps, wireframes and prototypes to bring ideas to life.
• Facilitate collaboration between business stakeholders, researchers, engineers and technical specialists; design and run workshops and co-creation sessions.
