Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD, based in Birmingham, seeks an Accountancy Practice Manager / Senior Manager to lead a diverse client portfolio and guide a growing team. You will provide high-level technical oversight, client relationship management, and strategic input to relieve partner review pressure while supporting firm growth.

Key responsibilities include reviewing accounts and tax work, mentoring staff, and driving improvements in processes and technology adoption to maintain regulatory

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA qualified or equivalent; QBE considered with leadership experience.
• Proven senior leadership experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong UK GAAP, statutory accounts, and tax compliance knowledge.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior staff.
• Excellent communication and client management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a substantial client portfolio across a range of sectors including healthcare and professional services.
• Review statutory accounts, management accounts and tax returns before Partner sign-off.
• Lead and mentor a team of accountants with regular performance reviews.
• Oversee workflow, allocations and deadlines to ensure compliance and deadlines.
• Support business development and growth of the practice.
• Collaborate with Partners on complex advisory assignments and strategic initiatives.
