Job summary

Raytheon UK’s Strategic Research Group (SRG) is seeking a Senior Data Scientist and Machine Learning Researcher to join a hybrid team in Gloucester, Manchester or London. You will deliver advanced ML solutions, mentor peers, and collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders.

You will apply AI/ML algorithms across NLP, CV, and Generative AI, train models including LLMs, and contribute to scientific writing and publications. The role offers a strong research focus and impactful delivery.

Qualifications

• BSc or higher in ML/DS/CS/Math or related field
• Desirable PhD or Masters degree
• Desirable experience with ML pipelines, Docker, and Linux tooling
• Desirable Cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Desirable research publications in peer‑reviewed journals

Responsibilities

• Develop complex, novel data science solutions for ML projects
• Scope, design, and deliver data-centric solutions across disciplines
• Undertake research and applied AI/ML tasks on customer and internal projects
• Provide technical leadership in small project groups
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate with stakeholders
