Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a proactive AI/ML specialist within the Strategic Research Group in Gloucester, Manchester or London. The role focuses on developing novel AI/ML solutions, scoping ideas and delivering projects for customers and internal research.

You will work with senior leaders, mentor juniors, and require SC and eDV clearance. The role is hybrid (about 3 days on-site) with opportunities to influence technical direction and advance national security related projects.

Qualifications

• BSc in Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.
• Experience coding in Python and ML packages.
• Track record delivering ML solutions to customers and stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML algorithms for data types and tasks including Generative AI, NLP and computer vision.
• Experience training AI models including Large Language Models.
• Ability to produce high-quality scientific writing for internal & external stakeholders and publications.
• Experience mentoring other team members and undertaking technical leadership on projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex, novel data science solutions for ML projects.
• Scope, design, and deliver data-centric solutions across disciplines.
• Undertake AI/ML research tasks on customer and internal projects.
• Generate ideas for new research directions and provide technical leadership in small project groups.
• Mentor junior team members within the project team and wider SRG.
• Work with customers and internal stakeholders to determine technical approaches and deliverability.
