Job summary

Raytheon UK in Gloucester, Manchester or London seeks a Data Science/AI specialist to drive novel AI/ML projects within the SRG. You will develop data-centric solutions, collaborating with senior leaders to steer technical direction and deliver end-to-end research from ideation to deployment.

You will communicate ideas effectively, write high-quality scientific material, and work with autonomy on complex, mission-critical defence problems, contributing to cutting-edge AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• BSc in ML, Data Science, Computer Science or Mathematics.
• Experience with Python and ML libraries (HuggingFace, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience delivering ML solutions to stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of AI/ML algorithms across data types (Generative AI, NLP, CV).
• Experience training AI models including Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Ability to write high-quality scientific (academic-style) documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop novel data science solutions as part of a team with guidance from seniors.
• Deliver ML/Data Science solutions for defence-focused problems.
• Undertake research and applied AI/ML tasks on customer and internal projects.
• Work autonomously on assigned tasks within project teams.
• Generate ideas for new research directions and approaches.
• Present and communicate technical work to senior stakeholders.
