Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a data science AI/ML specialist to develop novel data science solutions for defence and governmental projects. You will work with a team of AI/ML experts, delivering data-centric solutions and conducting applied research from initial scoping to delivery.

You will collaborate with senior technical leaders, communicate ideas effectively, and contribute to the technical direction of projects, with hybrid work arrangements across Gloucester, Manchester, or London.

Qualifications

• BSc in Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.
• Experience coding in Python and ML packages (HuggingFace, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Have experience of delivering ML solutions to stakeholders.
• Demonstrate understanding of AI/ML algorithms for Generative AI, NLP and CV.
• Experience training AI models including Large Language Models.
• Ability to produce high-quality scientific writing for internal/external publication.

Responsibilities

• Develop novel data science solutions as part of a team with guidance from seniors.
• Deliver ML/AI/Data Science solutions to a broad range of defence problems.
• Undertake research and applied AI/ML tasks on customer and internal projects.
• Work with autonomy on assigned tasks within project groups.
• Generate ideas for new research directions and techniques.
• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to determine technical approaches.
