Job summary

Wiltshire Council is seeking a Secondary Behaviour Support Mentor to provide direct support to secondary school pupils, helping them manage social and emotional needs to promote inclusion and prevent exclusion. The role involves working with schools and the wider team to deliver targeted interventions.

The post requires GCSEs in English and maths at grade 4 or above or equivalent and experience with young people, plus up-to-date safeguarding knowledge for children and young people.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs in English and maths at grade 4 or above or equivalent.
  • Experience working with young people.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation and guidance relating to children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate interventions to encourage prosocial behaviours.
  • Build effective relationships with schools and key agencies to coordinate support.
  • Support pupils individually and in groups and contribute to reviews and service evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate records and engage in ongoing training and team development.
  • Uphold anti-discriminatory practice in all aspects of your work.
