Job summary

International Care Network (ICN) in Bournemouth is seeking a Refugee Resettlement Support Worker to help families settle, navigate services and access opportunities within Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and wider Dorset. The role focuses on Afghan resettlement, with broad support across schemes to assist integration and independence.

You will work closely with refugee families, attending visits and appointments, and coordinating with local authorities and partners to ensure sustained support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals or families.
• Compassionate, practical and solution-focused.
• Ability to build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals and families with housing, utilities and practical day-to-day needs.
• Helping people access healthcare, education, benefits and other key services.
• Supporting access to ESOL classes, volunteering and employment opportunities.
• Accompanying people to appointments and meetings when needed.
• Helping families build confidence, independence and connections within their local communities.
• Working closely with local authorities, schools, health professionals, volunteers and other partners.
• Maintaining accurate records and case notes.
• Assisting with the preparation of homes prior to new arrivals moving in.
