Hybrid Family Practitioner – Refugee Safeguarding

Job summary

Connect2Hampshire is seeking a Family Practitioner to join the Refugee Safeguarding Team in Havant. You will support children and families with practical, emotional and tailored interventions as part of early help work, building trust and resilience.

You will manage a small caseload, work with social workers and partners, and use strengths‑based Hampshire approaches to promote positive change while visiting locally and accepting some home working as needed.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of child development.
• Direct experience of work with children and young people.
• Understanding the impact of social deprivation on families.

Responsibilities

• Arrange resources to help families access services under priorities and framework.
• Carry out direct work with service users and carers as allocated by supervisor.
• Work in partnership with service users, carers, relatives, children and professionals.
• Use mediation/negotiation skills to support families.
• Undertake statutory tasks per The Children Act 1989, Sec 17 with a Qualified Social Worker.
• Write and present quality reports based on activity.
• Deliver services within the Hampshire Approach to keep children safely at home.
• Provide services to children and families as assessed.
• Present to internal panels for funding where required.
• Record all visits on the child’s electronic record system.
• Prepare court reports, notices, and placement forms in consultation with social workers.
