Job summary

Hertfordshire County Council in Stevenage is seeking a proactive Recruitment Officer to run end-to-end recruitment across several service areas, partnering with hiring managers to write adverts, screen candidates and secure strong hires.

This hybrid role includes a mandatory in-office day on Tuesdays, a starting salary of £35,570 rising to £38,510 per year (pro rata for part time), and opportunities to influence resourcing while delivering inclusive recruitment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a working recruitment environment.
• Excellent IT skills with ATS and Microsoft Office.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Excellent organisation and time management including meeting deadlines and KPIs.
• Exceptional attention to detail and reporting accuracy.
• Experience in stakeholder management with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective stakeholder support within service remit to ensure collaboration and recruitment outcomes.
• Advise and implement attraction strategies and resourcing solutions including advert writing and pre-screening.
• Act as Operational Lead for vacancies within service remit and manage end-to-end processes to KPIs.
• Proactively manage workload through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to ensure timely progression of activity.
• Input into filling vacancies by understanding service priorities and tailoring recruitment strategies.
• Promote Diversity & Inclusion in line with the council’s People Strategy.
• Collaborate with the Recruitment Team and HR to meet service needs and recruitment goals.
• Represent the team at career events and job fairs to promote the council as an employer of choice.
