Job summary

Hertfordshire County Council is seeking a Procurement Officer to join its Strategic Procurement Group in Stevenage with hybrid working. You will deliver procurement exercises across services and support tender development, ensuring compliance with the Procurement Act 2023 and council regulations.

The role requires procurement experience, knowledge of current legislation, strong stakeholder skills, and meticulous attention to detail, with MS Office and eTendering proficiency being essential.

Qualifications

• Public sector procurement experience or relevant procurement knowledge.
• Understanding of current procurement legislation.
• Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to manage procurement activities through to contract award.
• Excellent attention to detail and confidence using Microsoft Office and eTendering systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver procurement exercises and framework mini-competitions.
• Provide procurement advice and guidance to stakeholders.
• Support pre-market engagement and tender development.
• Produce tender and contract documentation.
• Ensure compliance with the Procurement Act 2023 and Council regulations.
• Work closely with Legal, Finance and commissioning teams.
