Job summary

Trant Engineering Ltd is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead commercial and contractual management for multiple engineering projects in the South East England. You will work within the Operations department to ensure on-budget, on-time delivery and compliance with NEC 4 and other contract terms.

The role involves client and subcontractor relationship management, risk mitigation, audits, and leading contract administration.

Qualifications

• NVQ/HND/HNC in Engineering, Construction, Commercial Management, or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of UK construction and engineering contract law (NEC, JCT, FIDIC).
• SMSTS credential.
• Proven experience managing multiple contracts across engineering or construction projects.
• Experience negotiating, drafting, and administering contracts, including variations and claims.
• Experience budgeting, cost control, and risk mitigation on multiple projects.
• Strong client and stakeholder management, including dispute resolution.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery and commercial performance across multiple projects.
• Oversee NEC 4 contract terms and ensure compliance.
• Build partnerships with clients, EPC partners, and operators.
• Ensure project delivery aligns with client plans and schedules.
• Monitor costs, schedules, safety, and carbon metrics.
• Support risk, issues and audits related to contracts.
• Lead contract administration, reporting, and risk management processes.
• Collaborate with commercial teams on contract management.
