Job summary

Habitat Energy in Oxford is seeking a Software Engineer to join our UK Software team. You will contribute to building, maintaining and evolving our renewable energy platform that powers trading, optimization and asset management for a large fleet of energy storage sites.

You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to design scalable systems, implement clean, tested code, and participate in on-call support while aligning with our SDLC.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Python experience.
• Proficiency with API frameworks (FastAPI, Django, etc.).
• Experience modelling databases with Python (SQLAlchemy).
• Experience developing UIs with modern frameworks (Vue).
• Write clean, tested code and communicate clearly.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain our applications.
• Maintain existing code and own new applications with microservices and UIs.
• Collaborate with internal teams to define solutions.
• Interface with traders, data scientists, ops analysts and engineers.
• Ensure software aligns with our SDLC process.
• Write clean, tested code and document runbooks for on-call support.
• Participate in rotating on-call support for operations.
