Job summary

Axle Energy is hiring for an Analytics Engineer to own and optimise the core operational rhythms in our UK energy trading and asset management domain. You will develop a deep understanding of flexibility markets, collaborate cross-functionally, crunch numbers, and ensure settlements are accurate and payments to clients are correct.

You will work in a fast-moving, hybrid environment, applying SQL and Python to analyse data, automate processes, and inform strategic decisions that move the business

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and Python skills for analysing data, investigating issues, and automating processes.
• Strong analytical skills: you’ll be speaking MW, kWh, and £ every day.
• A deep-stated motivation to combat climate change.
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

• Own operations for UK energy trading processes (daily trading, settlements).
• Debug complex edge cases across trading, asset registration, and settlement processes.
• Identify risks to revenue and delivery and proactively mitigate them.
• Communicate insights and actions clearly to engineering and commercial teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with DSOs and UK market regulators.
