Hill McGlynn Recruitment Limited is partnering with a Mazstone-based construction consultancy to appoint a Project Quantity Surveyor / Cost Consultant. The role is based from their Maidstone office with hybrid working and a 37.5-hour week.

You will provide cost management services across the project lifecycle, liaising with clients, contractors and consultants, and supporting procurement and tender processes. A relevant degree is essential to apply.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline is essential.
• Previous QS or Cost Consultancy experience is required.
• Experience in a construction consultancy is advantageous.
• Good understanding of pre- and post-contract QS duties.
• Strong commercial and numerical skills.
• Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors and consultants.
• Ability to manage multiple project priorities with a proactive approach.

Responsabilités

• Providing Quantity Surveying and cost consultancy services across a range of projects.
• Preparing feasibility estimates, cost plans and project budgets.
• Providing cost advice to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Preparing tender documentation and managing tender processes.
• Analysing contractor submissions and preparing tender reports.
• Supporting procurement and contractor appointments.
• Preparing valuations and assessing applications for payment.
• Managing variations and change control.
• Preparing regular cost reports and forecasts.
• Monitoring project expenditure against agreed budgets.
• Assessing and negotiating final accounts.
• Attending client, design team and project meetings.
• Working closely with architects, engineers, contractors and other consultants.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery.
• Maintaining accurate project and commercial documentation.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
