Job summary

Hill McGlynn Recruitment Limited is partnering with an established construction consultancy to recruit a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Consultant for their Faversham office. The role covers cost management across a varied project portfolio, with strong client liaison and opportunities for progression.

You will work on feasibility through to final accounts, providing commercial input, cost planning, tendering and contract administration in a collaborative, development-focused environment.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related construction discipline is essential.
• Experience in quantity surveying or cost consultancy in a construction consultancy environment is preferred.
• Proven ability in cost planning, tendering, valuations and final accounts.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost and commercial advice across projects from feasibility to completion.
• Prepare feasibility estimates, cost plans and project budgets.
• Prepare tender documentation and manage tender processes.
• Analyse contractor submissions and prepare tender reports.
• Support procurement and contractor appointments.
• Prepare valuations, monitor expenditure and assess payment applications.
• Agree final accounts and manage variations/change control.
• Attend client, design team and project meetings and maintain documentation.
• Develop relationships with clients and stakeholders.
