Job summary

High Speed Two Ltd on the EKFB Main Works Civils contract is recruiting two Project Engineers to join the client-side Integrated Project Team. You will provide technical assurance of detailed designs and oversee contractor submissions to meet HS2 standards.

Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will review designs, address non-compliances, and support delivery from design through construction, testing and handover, with a hybrid pattern and clear progression toward Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Relevant Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in civil engineering design, Design Management or technical design review on major infrastructure projects.
• Ability to review and technically assess detailed designs, specifications and contractor submissions.
• Understanding of design assurance, technical compliance and engineering requirements.
• CDM knowledge, NEC contracts beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review and provide technical assurance of contractor detailed designs against HS2 requirements, standards and specifications.
• Identify design gaps, non-compliances and technical risks, and develop solutions with designers and HS2 specialists.
• Act as a technical point of contact between HS2 and EKFB, managing engineering queries and RFIs.
• Support the Engineering Manager in providing risk-based assurance across design and construction.
• Review assurance evidence and support the technical approvals and stage gate process.
• Undertake targeted site inspections and spot checks to verify construction reflects approved designs.
