Job summary

Newell Brands in the Manchester area (Cheadle) seeks a Product Engineer to turn new small appliance ideas into market-ready products under the Breville brand and other global labels. You’ll lead the engineering side of NPD projects, ensuring performance, quality and cost targets while collaborating with PM, Marketing, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory and Supply Chain in a hybrid setup.

You’ll use AI-assisted design tools, develop engineering specs, DFMEA, DVP&R and PPAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering field.
• Experience in product development/manufacturing/engineering.
• Prototyping, design validation, testing and engineering problem-solving.
• 3D CAD with SolidWorks or Creo.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering side of NPD projects through Stage-Gate process and define timelines.
• Create engineering specs and lead DFMEA, DVP&R, and quality documentation.
• Develop test plans and validate designs with internal/external labs.
• Review CAD models/drawings with cross-functional teams.
• Create basic CAD models using AI-assisted design tools for prototypes.
• Conduct IP searches and support patent activities.
