Job summary

Activate Group is seeking a Data and BI Analyst to join its IT team in Halifax. The role focuses on delivering high-quality reporting and analysis to support business decision-making, developing Power BI dashboards, and collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable outputs.

This hands-on role involves project work and BAU activity, with opportunities to grow analytical and stakeholder management skills within a central Data & BI function across the UK operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in a BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
• Strong Power BI skills, including report development and basic data modelling.
• Good understanding of DAX and ability to create calculated measures.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to work with structured datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports aligned to business requirements.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into clear reporting outputs, with support from senior team members where needed
• Support delivery of analytics initiatives, contributing to data preparation, modelling and visualisation.
• Work with Data Engineering to ensure data is accurate, structured and available for reporting.
• Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of outputs.
• Apply agreed BI standards, including data modelling, naming conventions and report design.
• Support the migration of legacy reporting (Excel, Tableau) into Power BI.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Support continuous improvement of reporting and analytical processes.
• Document datasets, reports and business logic to support transparency and reuse.
