Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is hiring a Functional Assessor (Registered Physiotherapist) in Sunderland. Your role focuses on clinical judgement, evidence review and written justification rather than treatment, with a hybrid model of home and assessment centre work.

Ideal candidates are NMC/HCPC registered professionals with at least 1 year UK clinical experience and strong report-writing skills. Salary starts at £39,500 with potential OTE up to £47,150, plus progression and benefits.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with active NMC/HCPC registration.
• Minimum 1 year of UK clinical experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use digital systems with reasonable typing speed.
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship not available.
• Experience in functional assessment or advisory roles.
• Ability to produce high-quality written clinical reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face and telephone PIP assessments.
• Analyse medical evidence and clinical information.
• Produce accurate, detailed, evidence-based written reports.
• Work to defined quality standards and clinical frameworks.
• Collaborate with clinical and admin colleagues; attend assessment centre as required.
