Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is recruiting for a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor in Sunderland. This role suits an NMC-registered Nurse, HCPC-registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist seeking a non-clinical focus on assessments, reporting and clinical reasoning.

The position offers hybrid working with centres, predictable hours, and structured progression. Ongoing training and clinical support are provided to develop expertise in PIP evaluation.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist.
• Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions.
• Minimum 1 year's UK clinical experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident use of digital systems (35 WPM typing speed).

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face and telephone PIP assessments in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Analyse medical evidence and clinical information.
• Produce accurate, detailed and evidence-based written reports.
• Work to defined quality standards and clinical frameworks.
• Engage positively with feedback and development opportunities.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative colleagues.
• Attend the assessment centre as required.
