Job summary

Health Innovation Wessex (HIW) is seeking a Programme Manager for Patient Safety to lead and deliver a portfolio of safety projects within the NHS innovation ecosystem. The role requires clinical background, strong project management, and the ability to influence across organisations within Wessex and beyond.

You will work on national/local safety programmes, coordinating with clinicians, commissioners, academic partners and industry while driving data reporting, QI activities and knowledge

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in nursing or allied health including professional registration
• Master's degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in relevant discipline
• Knowledge of patient safety guidelines and NHS functions
• NHS knowledge and experience in health and social care settings
• Project management training (e.g. PRINCE II)
• QI training or equivalent for patient safety
• Coaching/mentoring training is desirable
• Clinical and management experience in NHS or care settings
• Experience with QI tools and methodologies
• Ability to work across organisational boundaries and engage partners

• Manage and implement projects within HIW delivering patient safety programmes
• Engage with providers, commissioners, academics, social care, industry and patient partners
• Lead work streams and programme delivery across national and local safety initiatives
