Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS FT is seeking a Programme Manager – Patient Safety to lead a portfolio of safety-focused projects within HIW. The role requires clinical background, programme management, data reporting and stakeholder engagement to improve patient safety across the NHS.

The post is a 23-month secondment/fixed-term opportunity with flexible, hybrid working and a focus on collaboration across providers, commissioners and academic partners to drive transformation in health

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in nursing or allied health/public health where appropriate.
• Master’s degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
• Knowledge of patient safety guidelines and NHS functions.
• Quality Improvement experience and project management in NHS or care settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver multiple HIW projects delivering NHS patient safety objectives.
• Engage with providers, commissioners, academia, social care and industry; report progress and outcomes.
• Develop programme management plans; monitor milestones and promote dissemination of good practice.
