Hargreaves Lansdown PLC in Bristol is seeking a Database SysOps Engineer to support, maintain and improve our enterprise database platforms, with a primary focus on Oracle. You will be part of a specialist database team delivering secure, resilient services and contributing to automation and cloud adoption.

The role requires strong Oracle administration experience, RMAN backup and recovery, and experience with Linux.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Oracle databases in a production environment.
• Experience supporting business-critical systems and services.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

Responsabilités

• Support and maintain HL's enterprise database platforms, with a primary focus on Oracle and additional support responsibilities across MariaDB, SQL Server and Sybase ASE.
• Monitor database performance, availability and capacity to ensure services meet business requirements.
• Investigate and resolve incidents, service requests and technical problems in line with operational processes and SLAs.
• Perform routine database administration activities, including patching, maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
• Support backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes across the database estate.
• Raise and implement changes through HL's change management processes.
• Work with application, infrastructure and security teams to support reliable, resilient and secure services.
• Assist with database migrations, platform upgrades and cloud adoption initiatives.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Follow technical standards and processes; contribute to continuous improvement.
