Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution is recruiting a Grade 4 Network Planner for the Alfreton depot in the Chesterfield & Mansfield area. The role combines office and home working after initial training, with a focus on planning, design, costing and delivering network projects.

You will need English and Maths GCSE at C/Level 4 or Functional Skills Level 2, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work across the region with stakeholders. Interviews are planned for November 2026.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/Level 4 minimum or Functional Skills Level 2 or above.
• You may be required to complete TAR and a Level 2 City & Guilds 2339 qualification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver new services/alterations/small capital projects.
• Carry out onsite meetings and site walks.
• Collaborate with wayleaves/estates specialists to obtain third-party agreements for NGED assets.
• Financially review and close projects.
• Communicate with customers to manage expectations and resolve queries.
• Schedule contracted works and coordinate with stakeholders.
