Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution is looking for an Electricity Distribution Network First Responder to join our Alfreton depot, serving Chesterfield and Mansfield. You will be the frontline engineer, often the first person customers meet, delivering effective fault response and exceptional customer service.

You must hold a UK Level 2 Electrical qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds) or equivalent, have a valid driving licence, and be prepared for DBS checks.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 2 Electrical qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds) or equivalent.
• Evidence of qualifications required on appointment.
• UK/EU driving licence essential; company vehicle provided for business use.
• Role subject to DBS check; safeguarding responsibilities apply.

Responsibilities

• Respond to electricity distribution network faults and restore supply.
• Handle safety concerns on the network and carry out asset inspections.
• Carry out switching at various voltage levels where scope allows.
• Work alone as first point of contact for customers and provide service experience.
