Job summary

Whitbread is seeking a Network Engineer to shape, support and evolve its next-generation network estate across 1,200 locations in the UK. The role covers SD-WAN, LAN, WAN, WiFi, cloud and telephony, with hands-on design, implementation and support responsibilities.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and collaborate with architects, security teams and third-party suppliers to ensure a resilient and scalable network, plus lead major incidents and drive DR testing and

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Aruba or Meraki infrastructure.
• Strong networking expertise including SD-WAN, SD-Access, TCP/IP and OSI models.
• Experience with routing, switching and security technologies including BGP, OSPF, IPsec and QoS.
• Strong troubleshooting, monitoring and network performance management skills.
• Experience managing third-party suppliers and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support scalable network solutions across Whitbread's estates.
• Provide technical leadership across the network team and act as escalation point for complex issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with architects, security teams and third-party suppliers.
• Lead major incidents and participate in lifecycle management and capacity planning.
• Support disaster recovery testing and delivery of strategic technology projects.
