Job summary

MBDA UK is seeking a Network DevOps Engineer to automate and modernize our software-driven network infrastructure. You will design and maintain software tools, pipelines and data models to manage both physical and virtual networks, applying best practices in testing, version control, and modular design.

You will work in a hybrid environment with a strong emphasis on collaboration, developing playbooks and roles for network configuration, and upskilling team members in software engineering

Qualifications

• Advanced Python and software engineering concepts (OOP, design patterns).
• Strong testing and testable, maintainable code in Python.
• Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs (Django REST, FastAPI, Pydantic).
• Data structures, serialization, templating (JSON, YAML, Jinja2).
• DevOps, Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Version control with Git and GitLab; CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
• Ansible for network automation; familiarity with networking basics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade software and tools for network infrastructure.
• Champion software engineering best practices: code reviews, unit testing, clean code.
• Establish automated testing strategy and select tools/frameworks.
• Develop data models, plugins, and automation jobs to manage network SOA.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment.
• Collaborate on Ansible playbooks for network configuration; improve reliability.
• Mentor and upskill team members in software engineering.
