MBDA UK invites applications for a Network DevOps Engineer to help modernise network management and automate infrastructure. The role focuses on creating a software-driven network, applying standard software engineering practices, version control, testing, and modular design to support MBDA’s critical systems.

You will build and maintain software, tools and pipelines that manage physical and virtual infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability through code, while

Competenze

• Advanced proficiency in Python with strong OOP, design patterns and testable, maintainable code.
• Strong Python testing methodologies; design and implement testing strategy for network automation apps and APIs.
• Experience designing, consuming, and integrating REST and GraphQL APIs with Django REST Framework, FastAPI and Pydantic.
• Proficiency with data structures, serialization, and templating languages (JSON, YAML, Jinja2).
• Understanding of DevOps and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience using version control systems, notably Git and GitLab.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to automate testing and deployment.
• Hands-on experience using Ansible to automate and manage network configurations.
• Familiarity with core networking principles (TCP/UDP, IP, DNS, Routing, Switching, Subnetting, VLANs).

Mansioni

• Designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade software and custom tools, primarily using Python, to manage network infrastructure at scale.
• Championing software engineering best practices within the team, including code reviews, unit testing and writing clean, maintainable code.
• Establishing automated software testing strategy, evaluating and selecting tools and frameworks.
• Managing and extending our network Source of Truth by developing custom data models, plugins, and state-driven automation jobs.
• Building and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment of network changes.
• Collaborating on the development of Ansible playbooks and roles for network configuration.
• Supporting and upskilling team members to develop their software engineering capabilities.
