Job summary

Leeds City Council is recruiting an Assistant Network Co-ordinator to support the operation and planning of the city's highway network. The role involves data handling, co-ordination with residents, developers, utility providers and internal teams, and facilitating major highway works and events.

You will work in a hybrid model from Merrion House, with a focus on reducing disruption and improving service delivery across the network, under a supportive team framework.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004 and codes of practice.
• Ability to deal courteously and effectively with people at all levels verbally or in writing.
• Able to work on own initiative, with minimal supervision and tight deadlines.
• To interpret information and to prepare and present reports.
• Working with Geographical Information Systems (GIS).

Responsibilities

• Input and maintain data on Street Works Register and related documents and GIS maps.
• Carry out data quality checks and resolve identified issues.
• Co-ordinate with Statutory Undertakers and private developers to minimise disruption.
• Respond to enquiries from the public and colleagues about highway works.
• Assist in customer care, information activities, and routine reports.
• Support development of staff and promote diversity and equality in service delivery.
• Operate within standing orders, financial procedures and QA processes.
• Fulfil other duties within the spirit of the post as required.
