Job summary

AECOM in the United Kingdom is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will develop and manage mechanical designs, perform site surveys, pump system analysis, and prepare specifications, drawings and P&IDs.

The role spans feasibility through construction design, collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams, supports bids, and delivers within budgets. A hybrid work model and career development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in the design of water and wastewater engineering deliverables with multi-disciplinary knowledge.
• BEng or MEng in a related engineering field with experience in water and wastewater treatment.
• Chartered (or near Chartered) Member of a relevant Professional Institution.
• Experience within the water sector working for a consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage all aspects of mechanical design for water infrastructure projects.
• Engage in all design stages from Feasibility to Construction Design, aligning with standards.
• Collaborate with other discipline teams and communicate with clients and suppliers.
• Produce calculations, drawings and technical reports to required standards.
