Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the UK Water team, focusing on delivering multi‑billion pound capital programmes across water and wastewater sectors. The role supports frameworks with South West Water, Wessex Water, Southern Water and other partners, across Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff and remote locations.

You will lead feasibility, design and construction support for MEICA installations, manage budgets and risks, and collaborate with civil, electrical and process engineers

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• Develop feasibility studies, outline and detailed designs for water projects.
• Produce layouts, specifications, datasheets and P&IDs for systems.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure high technical quality.
• Manage budgets, schedules and deliverables to meet targets.
