Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Team across the North and Midlands offices (Birmingham, Chesterfield, Leeds and Manchester) with a flexible hybrid working model.

You will design water and wastewater infrastructure, perform site surveys, pump station design, layouts and reports, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver quality solutions for clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in water and wastewater design with multi-disciplinary knowledge.
• Degree in engineering with water/wastewater treatment experience.
• Chartered or near-Chartered professional in engineering.
• Experience in the water sector with consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater engineering deliverables for treatment projects.
• Carry out site surveys and liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers.
• Develop pumping station designs and head-loss calculations.
• Produce technical specifications, reports, and P&IDs.
• Collaborate with other discipline teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Support bids, proposals and project delivery within budgets and timelines.
• Adopt BIM, ProjectWise and other digital offerings in design processes.
