Job summary

AECOM Infrastructure and Environment UK Limited is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design for water and wastewater projects, including site surveys and liaison with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

The role covers feasibility through construction design, delivering calculations, drawings, and reports to standards. Collaboration with multiple discipline teams and active bid support are key aspects of this position.

Qualifications

• Experience in the design of water and wastewater engineering deliverables with multi-disciplinary knowledge.
• BEng or MEng in a related engineering field with experience in water and wastewater treatment.
• Chartered (or near Chartered) Member of a relevant Professional Institution.
• Experience within the water sector working for a consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage all aspects of mechanical design in wastewater and water infrastructure projects.
• Site visits to carry out site surveys and liaise with clients, contractors & suppliers.
• Produce calculations, drawings and technical reports to relevant standards and procedures.
• Engage in all design stages from Feasibility to Construction Design, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Contribute to bids and proposals, interfacing with clients to understand needs.
